Dr. Gitlin is the Managing Director and Founder of BluePath Solutions. He started the company in 2013 after working in industry and academia for over 15 years. Dr. Gitlin spent nearly 10 years at Amgen working in Global and European regional offices, across market access related functions supporting research and commercial activities. Dr. Gitlin has launched multiple products globally; and developed pricing and market access strategies for pharmaceutical products across the lifecycle during a dynamic landscape of policy, payment and pricing reforms.
Dr. Gitlin has served multiple roles within the healthcare industry developing and consulting healthcare stakeholders on topics related to HEOR evidence generation, market access, pricing, reimbursement, and value demonstration. He has worked across multiple therapeutic areas with focus on nephrology, oncology, cardiovascular, diabetes, neurosciences, pain, infectious disease. He has and continues to support small molecule, biopharmaceutical, gene therapies, medical devices, and diagnostics across the lifecycle.
Dr. Gitlin is focused on aligning company stakeholders including pricing, market access, contracting, finance, key account management, and health economics on value, market access and pricing related activities to produce a single and consistent voice for decision-making. He is also focused on account specific evidence to translate strategic decisions into external payer value demonstration tools using informed decision-making services encompassing technology, evidence and education.
Matthew holds a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and Bachelors of Science in Chemistry and Biochemistry from University of California, Santa Barbara. He has authored over 50 clinical and health economic publications, and is a volunteer Assistant Professor for the School of Pharmacy at UCSF.
Brian Duffant is a Vice President at BluePath Solutions, providing his clients with insight to the US health care system and deep expertise in creating profitable market access for life science brands.
Mr. Duffant is knowledgeable in the key market access landscape trends impacting biopharmaceutical brand performance. He has launched multiple brands in the US payer environment in addition to developing and executing market access plans for pre-commercial, mid-stage, and late-lifecycle brands.
Prior to joining BluePath, Brian served as a Senior Principal in the Managed Markets Consulting & Analytics practice of IMS Health. His consulting background includes a role as Vice President, Business Development for The Zitter Group, a boutique managed care consulting firm. His biopharmaceutical industry experience includes director-level market access roles at both UCB, Inc. and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
Mr. Duffant’s areas of focus include, but are not limited to, payer access strategy, value proposition development, pricing strategy, contract strategy/execution, contract modeling, payer segmentation, and reimbursement strategy development. His range of experience includes working with both specialty and non-specialty brands across a broad range of therapeutic categories.
Brian holds a B.S. in Business Administration from San Diego State University and certification as a Professional, Academy of Healthcare Management from the Academy of Healthcare Management.
Lopa brings to the team a wealth of knowledge in policy analysis, strategic planning, and comparative effectiveness research across multiple therapeutic areas. Her ability to synthesize clinical and economic data while navigating reimbursement and policy issues help her develop storyboards that demonstrate the value of a product from multiple perspectives. A former Policy Analyst at RAND, she is adept at horizon scanning for shifts in policy and new payment methods that affect reimbursement and delivery of care. Lopa earned her PhD in Policy Analysis from RAND Graduate School and her MPH from San Diego State University. She enjoys travelling, reading, and solving puzzles in her spare time.
Nikhil's training in clinical pharmacy and health economics research make him a valuable asset to the team. He excels in synthesizing clinical data and evaluating the economic aspects of products across multiple therapeutic areas, and primarily works to interpret research into practical evidence for use by non-technical experts. Nikhil earned his M.S. in Health Economics from the University of Southern California, and his M.Pharmacy from Manipal University in India. In his free time, Nikhil enjoys following soccer as well as playing chess and poker.
Kinpritma brings a great deal of knowledge on health policy and research to each project. Well versed in healthcare regulatory affairs, she supports our team through policy analysis as it relates to access planning, positioning, and the payer's perspective on downstream implications of dynamic regulatory landscapes. She joins BluePath from the Institute of Medicine, where she helped develop decision support software for vaccine policy through research, analysis and database construction. Kinpritma is currently pursuing her PhD in Health Economics at the University of Southern California and received her MPH in Health Policy from George Washington University. She enjoys staying active in her spare time by running, swimming, cycling, and hiking.
Courtney is a seasoned researcher with epidemiological training and an acumen for marketing. Well versed in multiple therapeutic areas, she helps our clients communicate the value of their product to payers through primary and secondary research, manuscripts, and data analysis. Her ability to translate complex research into practical evidence allows her to bridge the gap between research and commercial roles, a skill that affords her success in managing both market access and health economics projects at BluePath. She is currently completing her PhD at UCLA in Health Policy Management, where she also received her MPH. In her free time, when she's not exploring the world, Courtney enjoys searching for the best food, music, and live theater in Los Angeles.
Arrash has an extensive background in clinical pharmacy and regulatory science that enables him to analyze and forecast the competitive landscape of biotechnologies. He's had engagements with the FDA and Indian Health Services, and brings strategic insight on the regulatory issues that our clients face. Arrash holds a Doctor of Pharmacy and M.S. in Healthcare Decision Analysis from the University of Southern California, where he earned multiple Student Recognition Awards. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring new places and is an avid football fan.
Roxanna's economics training and global health perspective make her a valuable asset to the team. An expert in health outcomes research and the economic aspects of health, Roxy is well versed in conducting economic analyses that provide evidence for the value of health care interventions and innovations from the perspective of various stakeholders. She's held multiple research positions at UCLA and the University of Southern California (USC), and is currently pursuing her PhD in Health Economics at USC, where she also received her MPH. In her time outside of work, Roxanna enjoys playing setar, the piano, painting, and games of futsal.
Roy brings to the team an analytical mind and operational knowledge to support BluePath internally. He manages the company's operations and works to ensure efficiency in the day-to-day and long term functioning of BluePath. Having a variety of experiences from academia to tech, Roy is able to support the company in areas outside of operations as well, which include market research and data analysis. Roy earned in his B.S. in Cognitive Science from UCLA, and when he's away from work, he enjoys staying active, following sports, and spending time with loved ones.
Sophie's areas of expertise lie in modeling and econometrics as they relate to pharmaceutical pricing and international relations surrounding pharmaceutical policy. She helps our clients assess their pricing strategy and inform their decision making through economic models that simulate changing market landscapes and contracting scenarios. Before coming to BluePath, Sophie developed economic simulations of policy interventions and worked in private equity at a middle-market firm focused on the buy- and sell- sides of medical device companies. Sophie has authored several papers related to health services research, and is currently completing her PhD in Political Economics at UCLA. When she's not doing research or analysis, you can find her running barefoot, talking politics, and critiquing wine.
Jessica is an epidemiologist with a strong research and analytical background. Her ability to simplify complex scientific literature for a variety of audiences is an asset when creating evidence generation plans and value dossiers for our clients. Jessica came to the team from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention where she worked on reproductive health research and the global fight against HIV/AIDS. She has worked in more than 15 countries, lived on four continents and speaks five languages. She received her MPH from Boston University, where she earned fellowships and awards from multiple government agencies and academic institutions. When she's not working, Jessica enjoys traveling, cooking, writing and staying fit.
Tahira is a skilled researcher with a strong clinical and epidemiological background. She leverages her experience in these areas to help our clients better understand the clinical and epidemiological burdens of the disease areas associated with their technology and its competitors. Formerly a researcher at the Georgia Department of Public Health and Medtronic, she is well versed in research methods and analyses related to healthcare. She holds an MPH from Georgia State University, and enjoys taking her dogs to the beach, cycling, and yoga in her spare time.
